Processing Section 7 Requests from Court and CAFCASS

Derby City Council uses a Strengths Based Approach for all work with children and families.
Related guidance
CAFCASS undertakes to only identify the LA to provide S7 reports in the following situations:
- LA are currently involved;
- LA have been involved within the last 3 months and have completed a single assessment.
They will notify the court of this arrangement and will ensure all their staff are aware.
If they think it appropriate for the LA to complete the report in any other situation, they will contact the Initial Response Team to discuss.
